Building A Human

Starting off T4C can be a difficult task and building a human is not that easy and takes time but there are a few tips that can help players along their way.

  • First is getting your character started so please consult the Rolling your Character page.
  • Time and trial suggests you begin creating an earth or air mage.
  • High wisdom and intelligence prove better for higher armor class and damage.
  • On top of high wisdom and intelligence there are a few useful items that will provide automatic healing for you.
  • To make it easy for quick armor, building of stats, mages require some endurance and a little strength.
  • When rolling your character choose the questions that will give both str and end.
  • When the fourth question is complete, you are looking for close to 25 end for leather armor and 20 str for early weapons/staves and 10 or higher for int and wis.
  • You can select throw the dice to re-roll your stats and up int and wis but your str and end should stay almost unchanged because of the answers you chose if you followed this guide.
  • Once you complete the creation of your character you will appear in the town of Lighthaven.
  • Welcome to the Realm of Althea and to RealMUD.

First Entrance

Now that you're in Lighthaven, it is time to get you equipped to begin your journey. For valuable information on gameplay the extensive help pages will benefit you, simply press the F1 key to access it anytime.

The CTRL & I control will bring you to your equipment screen, then equip what you have started with (cloth pants, vest and rusted dirk).

Getting your First Level

  • Proceed outside the temple and speak with A Lighthaven Samaritan, a short red fellow. When you click him he will ask you if you have any questions, answer “yes” and the keyword for your first quest is “errand”.
  • Read his dialgogue and he will instruct you to kill 15 brown rats.
  • To find rats you must descend the steps at the entrance of the temple.
  • There are 4 levels to LightHaven dungeon.
  • Find 15 rats and kill them, then return to the samaritan and then you will gain a level.
  • Add the stat points you get to endurance to get 25 and the rest should be used to raise your wisdom or intelligence. Check the spells page on T4C Bible for the requirements for light spell or your first attack spell so you know where to add your points.
  • With 25 endurance you can now buy and equip leather armor.
  • Purchase a few healing potions if you have the gold and return to the second level of the dungeon, there you will find a Goblin Thief. He has the items you need to make your life much easier, kill him repeatedly to collect his items.
  • Consult the Goblin Thief page to see what items he drops and what bonuses they give.
  • These items will help with armor class and damage while you get started on RealMUD.

Quest for Skapsula Bearing

This is a ring that boosts armor class by 3, it has 100 charges of the protection spell. To use simply double click the ring in your backpack.

To complete this quest you require:

  • 1 Ring of Light - chests on the 2nd and 3rd level of the dungeon and various goblins will drop the ring.
  • 2 Decaying Bat Wings - the monsters Undead Bats, located 2 levels down the dungeon will drop these but they take time so be patient.

Bring those items to the NPC named Skappile in the Lighthaven temple and say the keyword “work” and thus you will now have a Skapsula Bearing.

Begin your Journey

Now that you have armor, weapons and perhaps a little gold, the next quest you should do will bring you straight to level 13 or higher. It's the Crimsonscale letter quest. Read through it so you know exactly what you're doing, it is a long quest and the main storyline of The 4th Coming. You will gain a few levels from the rewarded experience points, raise your wisdom to 50 and intelligence to 36 or higher. You can then ask in CC Main for someone to purchase a Ring of the Adept from Stoneheim and a Ring of the Healer, both of these will grant you a minor healing aura that will heal you overtime. Be sure to consult the spells page occasionally to know the requirements for your next spells.

Now that you have a grasp of T4C on RealMUD, take your time hunting, questing and building your character. Check the Addons - RealMUD Specific Quests & Items page for RealMUD specific content.
