Realmud Realm Controls

Here you'll find the controls of the Realmud T4C Server, these controls are generic to all T4C servers.

Keyboard

Controls	How to Use
	Your keyboard is your main portal for communication within the T4C client. You will use it to speak to other players, interact with NPC's (Non Player Characters), using game macros and for some controls. The F1 key will open up the help menu, which is a very handy tool in educating you on aspects of the game. *CTRL W* will open up the world maps, where you can pan between the different islands for a closer look. *TAB* will open up the discovered map, which is showing your imemdiate vacinity in-game and as you continue walking it will discover more. *CTRL C* activates/deactivates combat mode, which you will need enabled to battle other players. *CTRL H* will take a screenshot of your current window in the game (the file will be saved in your documents folder under dialsoft). *CTRL V* will paste any text you have copied into your computer's clipboard. *CTRL N* will display the names of all monsters, items and players within your screen. Have a look at the tips for 1.71 to see the configuration window for more controls, some of which you can modify.

Arrow Keys

Controls	How to Use
	You may use your keyboard's arrow keys as controls in T4C, to move your character UP, *DOWN, LEFT* and *RIGHT* within the game.

Computer Mouse

Controls	How to Use
	Your mouse is probably your best friend in moving your chracter as you can move a lot smoother by holding down the *LEFT* key and moving your mouse around. Your *RIGHT* key can be used to identify in-game elements, such as right clicking a player, monster or item and it will reveal their name.

Laptop Touchpad/Mouse

Controls	How to Use
	If you're using a laptop you can use your touchpad mouse just as you would with an external mouse. Hold down the *LEFT* key and pan across the touchpad to move in the desired direction. You can also use the *RIGHT* key to identify monsters, items and player names.

Entering the game

To enter the game, double click the T4C RealMUD desktop icon and the login screen will be displayed. Type in your account name and password and then click CONNECT.

The first time you run the client you will see the music decompressing screen, it will last between 5-10 minutes.

Once it is completed click OK and it will reopen the client, now you need to input your account name and password again (if it is not saved) and click CONNECT.

You will now see Realmud’s welcome message with a brief rundown of rules that you agree to before playing. Now press the enter key or click your mouse for the next screen.

Now you will see the menu screen, click upon ENTER THE REALMS to begin game play.

The character selection screen will now be displayed, click the character you would like to play (it will be highlighted) and then either press the enter key or click upon the bottom arrow to the right.

You will now see the loading screen and this will take a few seconds (depending on your internet connection).

Congratulations, you’re now logged in on the Realmud server! Be sure to read the messages in the Chat Center to know any announcements made.

You begin your journey within the temple of Lighthaven. Feel free to explore the surrounding area and you can check out the other tutorials if needed.

Creating your character

Before you can begin playing, you will need to create your first character. In order to do this, run the T4C client and click ENTER THE REALMS.

The character creation page will then be displayed and enter the desired name you would like for yourself. If a name is already taken then enter a different one.
Note: Ignore the 'Delete a character' title at the top, that isn't suppose to be there and is being worked on.

You will need to choose your desired gender (male or female), select one and then press enter or click upon the right arrow key.

You now get to choose your character’s attributes and they are based on your answers to four (partially random) questions.
Each different answer gives you an improvement to one attribute (Endurance, Strength, Agility, Intelligence or Wisdom).
The right answers depends on what class you want your character to be (Warrior, Mage, Archer, Paladin, etc).
For help on getting the best results for the class you would like, check out the rolling your character tutorial.

After the last question, you will be shown your starting statistics as seen below.
You can however try for another roll for a chance at a slightly better start, to do so click the icon of a DICE.
Once you’re happy press enter or click the bottom right arrow to begin playing.

You are now logged into Realmud and will notice the welcome screen, you can find this help menu at any time by pressing the F1 key, it is very handy to read through the extensive help pages.

You are now free to explore the realm, battle great beasts, interact with other players and undertake vast quests.

Installing T4C

After downloading the client, open the folder where you saved it and double click the icon to begin the installation.

If a security warning window appears, click on RUN to begin the installation.

The setup Wizard will now initiate, click on NEXT to progress.
You will now need to read the license agreement and select I AGREE to continue.

You are now required to select an install location, the installation will suggest your program files (x86) folder, either choose that folder or select another and then click NEXT.
You can now select a start menu folder in which you would like to create a shortcut or you can use the suggested folder. Once decided click NEXT to continue.

Now you can choose to create a desktop icon, either keep the box checked to create a shortcut or uncheck it.
You are now ready to install RealMUD T4C on your computer, simply click INSTALL to complete the installation.

You must now wait for the installation to finish, it will take several minutes.

You should now see a RealMUD T4C icon in your desktop as well as on the start menu, double click to run it.
If using Windows Vista you should always run the client as an administrator.

Registering

Go to Http://www.realmud.com and click
on REGISTER at the top of the page and then follow the directions on the screen.

Downloading the Client

Click on the links labeled REALMUD T4C CLIENT v1.71 (You may choose the light or full download, the full option is more prefered).

Now Select SAVE or SAVE AS.

Choose where you would like to save the client (be sure to remember your selection) and then click SAVE.

Wait for the download to complete, the speed will vary depending on your internet connection.
