Characters Detailed Information

This is the Detailed Listing of all the Non-Player Characters. Other Listings are available but all link back to here for the detail information.

  • A Dark Figure - A thief type character who is found in the building adjacent to Kalastors house. He mentions as you say goodbye that you are a wealthy traveller and that you are leaving with your purse intact. Vayle suspects strongly that he is a Dark Path follower in the same vein as Kalastor. This guy teaches the Peek skill.

  • Adriana - Teach, training, book of warfare are keywords for this damsel who is nowhere near being in distress. Adriana is the skills trainer for Armor Penetration. She also is a part of a small quest and will swap a Book of Warfare for a Blade of Sharpness.

  • Aldger, Samil - A disciple of Artherk, found in the WindHowl temple.

  • Amandra - A soldier in the SilverSky training barracks. He is found with Adriana and Belagen. Amandra speaks of adventure and offers to test your fighting skills if you use that key phrase (its not highlighted) and then say yes. He will then fight you inflicting considerable damage as Vayle found out before cowardly leaving the building. Not sure if this is 'to the death' or as it is a training type thing, if he is programmed to stop. Vayle was not prepared to find out.

  • Anrak - this guy owns the house to the east of spider lake. If you head for the basement you'll find Anrak and there is a gap in the wall that leads to a cave system that Vayle has named 'The Abandoned Caves' simply because there is nothing there.

  • Anter, Assyst - A gentleman in the employ of Lord Sunrock in WindHowl. He responds to the keywords of: count, Guntertag, and George III.

  • Araknor - Is a necromancer who is found wandering around the buildings to the east of the temple in Light Haven. He will teach a spell of Lesser Drain but you need to mention this to him as he will not volunteer this information at all in his conversation. Araknor is of the Dark Path and will 'apprentice' a player wishing to follow the dark arts of necromancy. He will reward you for a copy of Jarko's Spell Book.

  • Arrowmist, Morindin - He is found wandering in the wilds North of Spider Lake on the island of Raven's Dust. Arrowmist as he is commonly called will teach a skill of First Aid and exchange two Antelope Skins for a pouch of Dandelion leaves. He is also implicated in the search for a royal key but requires a person with at least 150 karma before responding. His keywords include: hunter, survive, antelope skins, orcs, translated. He will translate a document from Orcish for you to deliver to Mordrick Warstone.

  • AspicDart, Reynen - Found in the Caves of Illusion under the Raven's Dust Desert. Reynen is discussed in several quests, particularly with the search for Royal Keys. He has a nickname of 'Dart'. He mentions wanting a map of the Caves, and Vayle assumes that somehwere it will exist and is probably needed for gaining some reward.

  • Asarr - The head of the Thieves on Arakas Island. Assar plays a part in the Black Market quest. He names himself as leader of the brigands elsewhere he is cited as a 'master thief'. He responds to key words of villagers, brigands, sunrock, informations, report, train. When asked about training or skills he advises Vayle that he is not experienced enough. So we are uncertain as to what skill he teaches.

  • Balork - A demon who is found in the 4th level of the LightHaven Temple Dungeon. This guy is a key to the major quest thread and is also a part of a Dark Path quest. Whichever path you follow, you will need to meet up with him.

  • Belagen - Found in the training barracks with Adriana and Amandra, this guy is Adriana's helper. He has several keywords including Book of Warfare and advises that Adriana would like a copy.

  • Blackrose, Elysana - Found in the centre of Silversky, Elysana teaches several spells. Mana Burst and Minor Combat Sense. She will also provide a reward of Lizard Skin Boots for some ingredients. Check the Helping Elysana quest. Elysana is also instrumental in the Royal Key quest for Zhakar's Key.

  • Bloodhammer, Nafuhr - A companion of Rhodar Heatforge and operates as an armorsmith in the Town of Silversky. Mention a Dragons Tooth may bring a comment, but Vayle suspects this is part of a Dark Path Quest. Liurn, being the learned soul that he is, has been practicing his new portal spell that will (hopefully) transport the target (you) to Raven's Dust. Keywords include "Raven's Dust", send and yes. He will require a 'modest' fee of 10,000gp the first time that he sends you, however this is a once off charge and he will send you as many times as required thereafter for no extra charge. He also teaches the spells of Fire Bolt and Fire Ball.

  • Cred, Marsac - A Mage in the Mage house in Wind Howl Town. He is referred to for a low level quest to acquire a Skull Dagger (soon to be deleted ?).

  • Crowbanner, Rikken (Bishop) - The mentor of Princess Delilah, the Bishop is gravely ill and will require special medication. The herb Cuthana is the requirement and discussing his condition with the princess will elicit the appropriate key words for this quest. When he is in remission, following someone administering Cuthana, he will teach two spells Healing and Sanctuary. Cuthana is obtained following the completion of the Royal Key Quest.

  • Cth, R'yleth - "I am the greatest mage in Arakas and perhaps the whole of the Kingdom of Goldmoon" so states R'yleth Cth who then refuses to share any further information with such a basic mage as Vayle. Perhaps as we pursue the more obscure learnings of this world we may approach R'yleth for teachings. This mage will make Blank Magic Scrolls if you have a Runic Scripting Kit.

  • Dafyd - A wandering seller of +2 weapons which will add to attack of the weilder. According to reports you should equip the weapon only after equipping any other Attack enhancing items like rings or bracelets. The +2 adds approximately 20% of the Attack skill at the time that the weapon is equipped. This guy is found in the rocky mountain range north west of the path between the entrance to the desert and the Deep Ones Cave.

  • Damien (Monsignor) - a.k.a Damien the Damned. This ex-priest of Artherk is found in the forest area a little way south-west of the bridge to the Orc cave on Raven's Dust. A note is that Thorkas uses Monsignore while Damien drops the 'e' to call himself Monsignor.

  • DarkFang - The Dragon in LightHaven Town. He is good for a chat and will provide information for two quests, Gold and Tomb Raider. As a higher level player approaches Darkfang he advises that "I see you have grown, little human...." he will then discuss Karma and Worth as keywords.

  • Earthsong, Yrian - A druid in the Arakas druids camp. Found in the house in the north east corner of the camp. He will discuss the Stone of Life and commences that quest. He also teaches the spell Heal Critical. His keywords include: goblins, Stone of Life, Lantalir Rainmist, teach, spell, and Jarko. He is a water elementalist which leads Vayle to believe that the Heal Critical spell is water based.

  • Etheanan - A reclusive mage who has a small two roomed house in the woods of Raven's Dust. The easiest way to locate his house is to proceed north west from Spider Lake, to the small river, move westerly until the end of the river is found and then proceed north/north east if you find a path then you have gone too far. He is south of the pathway and north of the river. He is a most powerful mage with much to discuss on the topics of spells, mana, spell casting, elements, etc. He also will chat about housework and fishing if you wish to waste away the hours. His spells include Electric Shield, Fire Shield, Rain of Fire, Mana Surge, Mana Shield and Glacier. Key words include : Wizard, Special, Civilization, fishing, hunting, cleaning, cooking.

  • Grimish - A goblin-like creature who resides near the Raven's Dust Orc camp. If you approach the entry/exit point of the Orc caves from the Orc Town end and go a bit further to the north-east, you should find a small house and Grimish will be near-by. He has a riddle for a quest and would appreciate some Vampire Bat Wings for another minor quest. He is also a central figure in a Dark Path quest for Baldric's Drum. See also Baldric Silverknife and Doremas.

  • Grott the Troll - Not so much a character but a critter to be bashed and slashed. Grott is found near the second intersection on the road west out of SilverSky. • Haemogoblin (Count) - This is one of the goblin sub-bosses. He is found in one of the caves near Jarko's in the north west of Arakas Island. He may drop a Flask of Goblin Blood which is required for a Runic Scripting Kit. He is also a character in the Vampire Bat Wings quest.

  • Hamhoo, Jon - The chef or kitchen hand for King Theodore's castle. Jon appears to be of little use until following his convoluted tale of a Royal Key. Bear with him and you may find something of value. He will mention Kamar and Jalir as possible contacts but he is only almost right.

  • Harforr (Brother) - A Disciple of Artherk who is found in the temple in WindHowl on Arakas island. He provides the opportunity for a character to change their 'sanctuary' to the WindHowl Temple. A cost of 5,000gp is associated with the change. Sanctuary for new characters is the Light Haven temple, which is where a character will be transported to if they are close to death and their 'Gem of Destiny' saves them by removing them from the field of battle to a safe haven. Changing 'sanctuary' allows a character who has control over their destiny, through spells such as Word of Recall, to nominate a different location as their 'safe haven'.

Essentially he mentions the Lost Temple which is an anachronism to him, as in his view all temples in the Kingdom of Goldmoon are in worship of Artherk. The lost temple that he refers to is desribed as 'a forgotten temple in the forest', 'in the centre of the island of Arakas'. It is most likely that he is refering to the location of the 'lost city' that is discussed in relation to the druids quest for the Book of Feylor. This quest is one of two that commence with the driuds in Arakas island.

  • Nira, Mirak - Daughter of the Old Hermit. Mirak is found wandering on the grass between the north-east end of Lord Sunrock's house and the Temple of Artherk in WindHowl. Mirak will respond to the words 'Old Hermit' repeated 3 times and will then allocate a quest to kill a large number of goblins (which it appears that a basic goblin is worth '1' while a goblin scout or warrior is worth '2 or 3' base goblins. Her reward to you is her 'Trust' which will get you information from the Old Hermit.

He is a part of a major quest, the details of which are only partly known to Vayle. Keywords include assignment which is part of the quest for Baldric's Drum which is wanted by the bartender Thorbin Wildheart who will reward you.. He will put you in touch with Doremas. He also trains in the Rob skill.

  • Silversmith, Lance - This guy is found in a small house to the east and slightly north of Goblin Crossing on Arakas Island. Lord Sunrock plays a part in quests associated with both variants of the Report Quest, the Black Market Quest, Diamond Quest, and Jarko's Spellbook. He mentions Righul's Mountain, which Vayle suspects is another title for the area around Jarko's. The mountain is in the North West corner of Arakas Island.. He also suggests that once the character is strong enough to survive for hours in the cave north of WindHowl then the next goal would be Righul's Mountain. Vayle assumes that he is referring to the Kraanian cave and that having survived several sessions there would mean that the character is ready to commence tackling critters in Jarko's area in the far North West of Arakas.

  • Theodore (King) - Found asleep standing up in his room in the north east corner of his castle, the king refers the asker of questions to his advisors for responses. While he will no doubt have a greater part to play, Vayles research to date has failed to find it. Despised by many, Theodore is a key word for conversations with many other characters. His full title is King Theodore VIII (as in 8) and is at least 45 years old. His daughter is Princess Delilah.

  • Thomar (Chamberlain) - Found in the castle together with his King and the Princess, the chamberlain provides key links to several quests (or parts of a larger quest depending on how you wish to look at it). Key words include: Royal Key, Champion of Light, Swear Fealty.

  • Toemangler, Blaarg - A nasty Orc type found in the second level of the Orc cave in Raven's Dust. If you kill him, he may drop a human foot. Grab this and refer to the Human Foot quest.

  • Tors, Halam - The innkeeper of the pub with no name in LightHaven. He responds to many keywords, but most appear to have little value for quests or adventures.

  • Totak - A thief in charge of looking after the treasures of thieves town. He will have a wager with you if you want to 'gamble 100 gold'.

  • Travis (Lord) - In the barracks in WindHowl to the left as you enter WindHowl main gates.

  • Uranos - A mage found in the mage tower on the sands of LightHaven. He is integral to the Skull Dagger quest. He teaches the earth elemental spells of Shatter and Stone Shard.

  • Warstone, Mordrick - Captain of the Kings Guard for King Theodore in Raven's Dust. Mordrick mentions Derran Ironstrife in his conversation. He also provides initial tests for any follower of the Path of Light and requests assistance, with appropriate rewards, for disposing of 15 Demon Trees, and then retrieving plans from the Orc leader Rumblefoot. In addition he is named by Celestina Waterbreeze as the holder of a royal key.

  • Waterbreeze, Celestina - Sister of Dunikus Hornwind from the druids camp on the isle of Arakas. Celestina features several times of various quests. She is part of the Royal Key quest and has a minor quest to Save a Tree. Spells to be learnt from Celstina include Ice Ball and Resist Fire. She also has a key word of Tree which is an apparent minor quest.

  • Wildheart, Thorbin - The bartender of the Troll's Armpit which is the pub in SilverSky. He will explain the name of the establishment if asked. He will also start a quest to gain the drum of Baldric Silverknife which is apparently a quest for followers of the Dark Path.

  • WindHowl Samaritan - Found wandering the main road outside the Drunken Dragon's Inn just along from the main gates.

  • Yolak- The potion seller in WindHowl.

  • Zhakar - A mage who lives within the Temple of Sorcery. Zhakar is central to a quest for a Rod of Mana which requires a number of steps to be undertaken. As the quest appears to be faulty in the current version it is not fully documented and cannot be completed. His spells include Chain Lightning, Vortex of Air and Nimbleness. Supposedly a Deep One stole Zhakars Rod of Mana. Following the logical step for this quest, locating a Deep One leader (Big Red in appearance) will result in obtaining a scroll that needs to be taken to Aloysius Starbolt. The next stage of this quest is not resolved in V1.02. V1.03 has actually deactivated the keywords. Zhakar will also respond to Kraanian or Egg as a keyword. If you hand him a Kraanian egg (obtained from Arakas) he will 'hatch' it during your next two level ups. Return to him after gaining two levels and follow the quest. Keywords include: Tower, Deep Ones, Learn, Nimbleness, Egg, Kraanian, Taunting Horror, Magic.
